The Summer Edit

A girl’s makeup changes a lot throughout the seasons but one thing we can all agree on is that less is more in the summer!

So here is what I wear on a summer day.

– a good mascara, the only time I buy waterproof mascara

– under eye concealer, its the summer but we still have to cover those bags we accumulated this year

– brown eye liner (for when you want your eye look to be a little bit more intense)

– bronzer (only in the beginning of the summer) to warm up the contour of the face

– a pink bush (you really only need a little bit)

And that’s it! There really is no need for more.
As for my night look I darken things up a little working from the base I already have on.

– black eyeliner in the waterline

– orangy-red lipstick, I prefer mine matt

– and you can’t forget the bows, I darken mine and apply brow gel to keep them into place

My year long fragrance is the Daisy by Marc Jacobs as it is a light flowery scent that works well in the summer heat and warms up in the winter.

Here you have it, my summer edit!

My summer nail polish Picks

Summer is here, flowers are bright, the sun is shining and leaves are as green as they could ever be! Its the perfect occasion to be wearing the more colors one could wear either on your clothes, lips or nails.

Summer is my favorite time of the year to wear bright colors on my nails! Truthfully I never have bare nails during the summer!

To apply these crazy colors, I first put a Base Coat to protect my nails from that nasty reddish color that red nail polish leaves on my nails and also to make my polish stay longer! And of course don’t forget top coat for shine, fast dry and to keep your beautiful color longer!

Here is my 4 most favorite colors that never leave my sight during the summer!

red: Revlon Colorstay in Red Carpet
pink: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Coral Reef
orange: Revlon Colorstay in Marmelade
blue: Bourjois Ultra Shine So Laque in Bleu Fabuleux

On your marks … go … PAINT!

The Key to a Perfect Tan

Isn’t it the dream of every girls? Meet up in September with golden legs, freckles on you cheekbones and almost invisible tan lines?
No matter what anyone tells you, it is not too late to prepare your skin for the summer.

1. The key to a nice tan (without the crocodile skin) is hydration.
Don’t have dead hand on the moisturizer that will make all the difference if you want to keep this beautiful tan in September.
My favorite for over a year is my Body Garnier Intensive 7 Days (the mango). It’s lightweight and if applied after the shower, it is absorbed very quickly into the skin and does not stick to clothing.

2. For your skin to regenerate faster, do not hesitate to use a scrub to get rid of dead skin cells.
Ideally,  use the scrub once or twice a week on the legs, arms and chest.
The Body Shop has a wide range of scents scrubs mango chocolate through cherry or vanilla.

3. If you want to boost the tan, I have three ideas to swipe your ear.
– The simplest is simply the carrot. I can see you smile at your screen but it’s true, carrots help to amplify the effect of sunlight. They are full of beta-carotene, supposedly anti oxidant that will make your tan less gray and dull.
So of course, I do not recommend that you change your diet to a cure of carrot but a glass of carrot juice or a carrot a day is more than enough to start.
– I also tried last summer the combination of vitamins AEC. This combination of antioxidant and reduces the risk of sunburn.
– Finally, dietary supplements especially for the sun. These small capsules to be taken two weeks before exposure and continue for two weeks during your holidays have the advantage of preparing your skin to the sun and amplify the effects of tanning. I bought my first cure last night, I’ll write a new post when I’ll have tested it for a while.

And of course, when you’re outside, don’t forget to protect your skin with loads of sunscreen (apply every 2 hours)
